2009 Scholarship Program
Stoneham Drilling announces the 2009 Scholarship Program. The program consists of one $1,000 bursary towards tuition and fees.
OBJECTIVE
To provide educational assistance to an employee or son or daughter (or other legal dependent) of an employee of Stoneham Drilling and thereby encourage him or her to continue education.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicant must be an employee or the legal dependent (natural child, stepchild, adopted, ward) of an employee of Stoneham Drilling. The award will be made only to an individual entering or continuing a post-secondary or vocational program as a full-time student (three or more classes per semester).
ASSISTANCE
A $1,000 cash scholarship will be paid directly to accredited institution of higher learning or accredited vocational school upon admission of the student selected. The funds may be applied to tuition fees or other educational expenses (i.e. textbooks) with any balance at the end of the semester carried forward for the student's account. Any balance remaining after graduation or termination of enrolment is to be refunded to Stoneham Drilling by the institution.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND RESTRICTIONS
Applications and all supporting materials must be received at the Stoneham Drilling, Leduc office, by the established deadline. Late applications will not be accepted. The scholarship will be awarded only to an individual seeking a degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited college, university or trade program. No application will be processed without a copy of the most recent transcript of high school, college or university grades. The applicant must include the name of the college, university or trade school he or she plans to attend and must notify the Stoneham Drilling, Leduc office, if there are any changes to these plans.
AWARD PROCEDURES
- Applications must be received at Stoneham Drilling Inc., Leduc, Alberta, on or before Monday, June 15, 2009.
- Recipient chosen by the Stoneham Drilling Scholarship Selection Committee will be notified directly.
- Cheques will be issued to the student's account at the appropriate institution upon receipt of confirmation of student's enrolment. Cheques will include a form to be completed and returned to Stoneham Drilling by the institution. This form acknowledges the understanding that the funds must be applied to tuition fees or any incidental education expenses (i.e. textbooks) with any balance to be refunded to Stoneham Drilling after the student graduates from school.
